The class was required to participate in two group projects. Group work is important to online learning because it provides the student to student interaction. It also helps the students develop time management skills. I also believe it helps students to push themselves even more, because when you are working together with a group, your group members will hold you accountable for your part of the assignment.
The first group project consisted of six group members and we developed a history lesson plan in google docs. The group I participated in chose the Foundation of Psychology - Carl Jung.
We provided an introduction to our lesson, a lesson for each type of learning style, and a grading scale. I would have to say this project was difficult to complete online because of the varying schedules of all six students. Since this was the first group project for the class we had a tough time trying to assign tasks in order to complete the project on time. We were able to complete the assignment which isviewable in the artifacts tab under group projects.
The second group project was a smaller group. There were two group members and together we developed a Wiki page. Our topic was ePortfolio and we each found a text and multimedia website on the subject of ePortfolio. Together we created a rubric on what the student would be graded on.
